CISDR FAN CLUB The Communities in Schools Dallas Region, Inc. (CISDR) FAN CLUB unites individuals dedicated to improving the lives of school children by helping them remain in school, achieve academically and graduate. Although the FAN CLUB Founders are comprised of young professionals, we welcome and encourage all ages to join us in our mission of positively impacting the lives of CISDR students through volun-teerism, advocacy, education and philanthropy. Since 1985, CISDR has provided year-round, on-campus academic and social support services to more than 500,000 students in grades Pre-K to 12. Our staff of dedicated professionals are experts in providing comprehensive case-managed services and bringing community resources into schools to help at-risk students. The mission of CISDR is to help students at risk of failure stay in school, achieve academically and graduate to become productive and contributing members of our communities. In 2008-09, CISDR individually case managed 11,078 students, one child at a time with undeniable results: 98% stayed in school, 92% improved their academics, behavior and/or attendance, and 91% of those eligible to graduate, did so. Volunteerism The FAN CLUB offers its members unique volunteer opportunities, including assisting with events, such as the annual CISDR Kids Come First Gala, CISDR High School Graduation Reception and CISDR student recognition events. Members also have the opportunity to volunteer in our schools through our Bright Kids Reading Improvement Program, ExxonMobil GEMS (Girls Exploring Math & Science) and CAP (College Academic Prep). Education FAN CLUB members are invited to attend educational events, such as Community Leaders Luncheons, which are offered within the schools served by CISDR. These luncheons are casual events that provide individuals with the chance to learn more about CISDR and to introduce their friends and associates to the organization. The luncheons include a brief program about the mission of CISDR presented by CISDR leadership and include words from the principal and our students. Philanthropy
